Tobacco is a plant product containing nicotine, cellulose, ammonia, and protein. It is believed to be the most consumed harmful product in the world. Among the constituents, tobacco is predominantly consumed for the stimulant alkaloid nicotine in form of products such as chewing tobacco, Cigars, Cigarettes, Creamy snuff, Dipping tobacco, Gutka, Snuff and others.

In its quest to accelerate local industrialisation, the Government of Zambia in partnership with the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) agreed to implement a project called the Strategic Action Initiative for Economic Development - Triangle of Hope (SAIED-ToH) in 2005, to formulate and implement a model which could be successful in Zambia. This process led to the birth of what has become known as Multi-Facility Economic Zones (MFEZs). These were established in Zambia to operate as platforms for industrial development and creating value chains in addition to the much-needed jobs that they would create.

National Airline study

The Government of the Republic of Zambia has been implementing policy decisions aimed at re-launching its National Airline since 2014. The previous National airline went under in 1994 due to financial mismanagement and thus left the nation dependent on international carriers and domestic private airlines.
